The Questioneers: Iggy Peck and the Mysterious Mansion
Publisher: Amulet Books
Iggy, Ada, Rosie and Sofia are the Questioneers, an inquisitive group of friends who live in the eccentric town of Blue Water Creek. As a budding young architect, Iggy adores everything related to buildings and design, so is thrilled when Ada’s Aunt Bernice inherits a grand old house which once belonged to ice-cream baron, Herbert Sherbert.
She plans to sell some of the antique furniture to help fund the maintenance of the old building. However, aside from some ghostly noises, an enigmatic white cat and a spooky old portrait, the house is empty. The Questioneers must solve the mystery of the missing furniture before Aunt Bernice is forced to sell the building to a property developer, who plans to demolish it.
This is a thrilling mystery about a group of quirky characters, who were first introduced in a series of picture books. Each chapter is enhanced by David Roberts’ stylish two-tone illustrations, which are full of wit and personality. At the end of the book is an informative section, which includes an overview of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods, some feline facts and a delicious recipe for ice-cream.
