The Princess and the Christmas Rescue

Princess Eliza lives in a beautiful palace amid a forest - but living in a palace is about the only bit of being a traditional princess she really does. Eliza is in fact a brilliant, brainy inventor, and she can make anything you want from a bit of wood and some pieces of wire, However, what she can't make is a friend, and so she goes out into the forest to find one. But what she finds instead will keep her very busy inventing machines and devices to wrap and sort presents for some panicky elves - and making a lot of friends in the process!

This excellent rhyming story about making friends has a wonderful heroine in Eliza, who is as practical, hardworking and generally non-princessy as anyone could wish for. Bright illustrations with plenty of fun details make this a perfect Christmas read.
