Poor, orphaned, downtrodden Seth works in the kitchen of an isolated hotel run by the loathsome Bunn family. He is friendless, apart from his cat, but has dreams of escaping one day.

A group of VIP guests bring a bit of colour to his grim life but, when one of them is murdered, Seth finds himself the number one suspect. And when it becomes clear that magic is involved, can Seth clear his name before the agents of MagiCon make him disappear?
