As he races through the rooms he convinces mouse, cat and dog to join him. Traditional drawings and a gentle touch give Lesley White’s debut picture book a timeless feel. The straight-forward storyline and a light repetitive structure make this story a lovely bedtime choice for younger toddlers and the dusky palette and simple lines will appeal to fans of the late Barbara Firth’s shadowy illustrations in Martin Waddell’s Can’t You Sleep, Little Bear?
