The Flute

Publisher: Tiny Owl

Review

In a bright meadow full of fruit and flowers, a boy plays a flute. As beautiful, multi-coloured butterflies flutter past, people and animals nestle down on the soft grass to listen to its mellow tune. Some children dance in the bright sun, listening to the flute whisper its sweet secrets. The flute is a bright pink scream and a lilac sigh – it can be all types of colours and moods. Above all, it’s a kind of magic all of its own.

This poetic book is the second in Tiny Owl’s series of books for babies and toddlers about musical instruments from around the world and how they make us feel and move (the first being The Drum).

The book’s rhythmic text and vibrant illustrations make it a lovely and original choice for reading and re-reading to little ones.
