The Boy Who Hit Play
Publisher: Faber & Faber
On his 12th birthday, Elvis Crampton Lucas decides that now is the time to find out about the zoo. And the bench. And to ask the big question: why?
All Elvis knows about his origins is that his "father" found him on a bench at the zoo, wrapped in a Norwegian newspaper, and brought him home in a Stetson hat. Elvis loves his dad, but now he needs to know where he came from and who left him at the zoo...
In an epic journey, Elvis and his dad find themselves racing across Norway, pursued by a shadowy villain who seems determined to prevent them getting to the truth.
This funny, life-affirming quest for identity features the distinctive voice of a unique individual. It asks fundamental questions about who, or what, shapes our personalities and determines our path in life. Captivating and thought-provoking.
