Superdad’s Day Off

Publisher: Little Gems

Stanley is an ordinary boy from an ordinary family, with one notable exception: his father is a superhero. Although Stanley is proud of his dad, he feels sad that they rarely spend time together, as Dynamo Dan is always busy saving the world.

Thrilled when his dad takes a day off, Stanley eagerly looks forward to their father-son outing to the playground. However, it seems that superheroes are in constant demand as, on their way to the park, they encounter all manner of disasters: a panther stuck up a tree, a flooded shark-infested house and a monster truck with a puncture.

Determined that Dynamo Dan rests on his day off, Stanley attempts to deal with each problem by himself, and it becomes increasingly clear that - like his dad - perhaps Stanley is not so ordinary after all.

With lively, colourful illustrations, short chapters and clear, well-spaced text, this very funny tale is ideal for reluctant readers.
