When Stephenanie Edgley is attacked after her uncle (Gorden Edgley) is murdered., she is thrown into a world of magic, sorcerers, skeletons (Skulduggery pleasant) and of course a dark sorcerer (Serpine) who is bent on getting a weapon that can destroy everything. Or that's what Skulduggery seems to think. But is Serpine's plot bigger than that? Brilliant book.

I loved this book. I am 10 yrs old in a few days and i read this book in about a couple of weeks and i am a very slow reader.i recommend this book to people who like to have a bit of a laugh and deal with a little bit of gory. I am almost finished with book 2 and i love it .

It was a really amazing bookj. I loved the characters and plot is excellent as well. The story is about a skeleton called Skulduggery Pleasant who solves crime mysteries with his sidekick companion called Stephanie edgley(valkyrie cain).
