She, Sam and their two yaks set out on a dangerous journey across the Himalayas to reach India and the Dalai Lama, who she hopes will be able to save her parents.
This beautifully designed book is a richly atmospheric story of friendship, courage and survival. It provides a rare insight into Tibetan culture and raises timely questions about the nature of freedom, without being overtly political. Although there are some distressing moments, these are sensitively handled and the overriding message is one of hope and compassion.

**SPOILERS** The book is interesting. I like the bit when Sam gets killed but then a few chapters out Sam comes back alive how magical is that she must be magic. It's sad at some moments and happy at some moments . The sad moment was that Sam died and they are thinking she was going to come back but she didn't happy moments is that Sam came back to life in a couple chapters after. there was emotional parts but I didn't cry my teacher nearly cried . i hope other people like this book.
