My Super Sister
Publisher: Macmillan Children's Books
Sensible Emma and her naughty little sister Saffie love having superpowers. They can make their dolls and teddy bears talk, make pencils dance across the desk when they are bored of homework, and even play frisbee with their (Super) Granny's garden gnomes. The only problem is that Mum and Dad don't want anyone to find out about their special gift - and keeping it a secret can be tricky, especially when Saffie is feeling mischevious. When some inquisitive new neighbours move in next door, and Saffie starts behaving badly, it's down to Emma to stop them from finding out the truth.
This funny and lively story from Gwyneth Rees is ideal for independent readers - especially those with naughty little sisters of their own. Children will love the idea of bringing toys and other inanimate objects into life and Ella Okstad's black and white illustrations make a perfect finishing touch.

Super Sister was a funny superhero story. Even though it was a made up story, it felt as if I was really there, saving worlds, protecting sisters!
