Mummy’s Suitcase

Ruby Roo feels sorry for her mum, who is going away for three whole days. She thoughtfully decides to pack Mummy’s suitcase for her, so she’ll have lots of reminders of home on her travels.

Emptying the already neatly packed case (containing items such as luxury spa break information, a swimming costume, books and nail varnish), Ruby Roo sets about packing it properly, with the help of her little brother Barney.

Starting with a family photograph and some teddy bears, the children scour the house and garden for all the things Mummy really loves, leaving absolute chaos in their wake. The well-meaning children squish all manner of objects into the case, from a tent to a selection of green vegetables, which their mum always insists are the Best Thing Ever. As their unsuspecting mother trundles her suitcase to the taxi, she is oblivious to the surprise that she has in store.

Lively, colourful illustrations burst from every page, giving the characters real personality. This funny, charming tale will delight young readers and is a warning to all parents to keep a careful eye on their children!
