Mary hates her hair! She thinks it looks like a big bush growing on her head. She fetches the scissors from the kitchen drawer and cuts it all off. Mary thinks her hair looks great now, and so do her friends – but her mam is very angry.
She has to promise that she will never cut her hair again – but she soon realises that she hasn’t made a promise not to dye it. This time she practises on her neighbour’s dog, leaving both dog and neighbour very upset. She realises she must say sorry and makes amends, and at last agrees to let Mam take her for her haircut.
Delightful illustrations complement this humorous story about being self-centred. Dyslexia-friendly, it is well suited to reluctant or less confident readers.
