Madeline Finn and the Library Dog

Publisher: Old Barn Books

Madeline Finn doesn’t like to read. Everyone else has a gold star for reading but Madeline gets a heart sticker that says ‘Keep trying’.

At the weekend, she goes to the library and meets Bonnie the dog, who loves to be read to and never laughs or rushes her. Madeline learns to be more confident with her reading and when she gets her gold star, Bonnie has a surprise for her, too!

A really sweet story about finding the confidence to read aloud through practice with a patient listener is paired with traditional illustrations that will have wide appeal. Bonnie is a beautiful dog and the scene of the patient pups waiting in the library is a glorious idea.

Highlighting the "reading dogs" programme used by many schools and libraries, money from the sales of this book will be donated to the Pets as Therapy charity.
