Losing It

Publisher: Andersen Press

This is a collection of eight short stories about growing-up, virginity and sex for teenagers. The authorial line-up is first class: Gray, Burgess, Fine, Hooper, McKenzie, Rai, Valentine and Ness, the last offering a different viewpoint on virginity, and challenging readers to supply the words blacked out in the text!

The anthology addresses this universal teenage concern through gender, sexuality, and cultural and historical difference, often with great humour and tenderness, always with frankness and sensitivity, and sometimes with a shocking conclusion.

The final story, Anne Fine's Finding It, reminds us that losing our virginity is often the main goal, but that finding real love is actually far harder, and ultimately much more fulfilling.
