Little Why

Publisher: Little Tiger Press

Baby elephant, Little Why, deserves his name. While other elephants walk in line, trunk to tail, Little Why just can't: whenever another creature appears, curious Little Why rushes off to investigate. Why can't he have horns like Wildebeest. Why not speedy fur, like cheetah - or lofty legs like giraffe?

Although the elephants urge him back into line, Little Why is off again when he spies a crocodile. There's a terrible SNAP  - and a narrow escape for Little Why. The other elephants explain: with his squirty trunk and flappy ears, Little Why doesn't need anything else. He's perfect as he is!

Natural curiosity is weighed against necessary caution in this story about accepting yourself. It is accompanied by elegant, expressive, endearingly gawky illustrations.
