Leonardo the Terrible Monster

Publisher: Walker Books

Leonardo really is a terrible monster – so terrible that he can't scare anyone, ever.

Then, one day, he hatches a plan, does lots of research, finds the most scaredy-cat kid in the whole world and tries to scare the tuna salad out of him.

Does it work? You'll have to read the book to find out but Leonardo does come to a very big decision – that on the whole he'd rather be a very good friend than a very bad monster.

This is a beautiful book. Although the storyline may not be the most original in the world, it is so beautifully written that it seems fresh and new. Combined with the seductively simple and expressive illustrations, this makes it a must for preschoolers.
