Just Right For Christmas

Publisher: Nosy Crow

On a snowy Christmas Eve, the king visits the market to buy a beautiful soft red cloth to make a cloak for the princess.

Little does he know that the leftover cloth he places outside the back door will be used to make presents for many more of the kingdom’s inhabitants – a plush red jacket for a mother, a red fedora hat for a badger, bespoke gloves for the squirrel, all right down to the last teeny bit of cloth made into a scarf, which is just right for the smallest mouse to protect him from the winter chill.

This is a superbly sweet message of celebrating not only the joy of giving, but the thoughtfulness of handmade presents made especially for loved ones. Rosalind Beardshaw’s illustrations are as charming as always, bringing much warmth in this wintery setting and making it a cosy read for the festive period.
