In Focus

Publisher: 360 degrees

A beautiful book to browse that contains a wealth of interesting nuggets of information, handsomely presented by ten different illustrators.

Ten broad topics are covered with a range of cutaway flaps, cross sections and close-ups: Ocean, Homes, Earth and Space, Landmarks, Nature, Everyday Objects, Buildings, Fruit and Veg, Animals and Transport. The text itself is simply small interesting factoids or explanations. For example, did you know that octopus blood is blue? The word 'sofa' dates back to 2000BC? There are over 8,000 varieties of grape?

The spectrum is wide and general so while it couldn't really be used as a research book itself (there is no index), it might invite investigation beyond the books.
