In Darkling Wood
Publisher: Faber & Faber
With her little brother Theo seriously ill in hospital, her Mum stressed out and her Dad seemingly too wrapped up in his new family to care, the last thing Alice needs is to be shipped off to stay in the middle of nowhere with a grandmother she has never met.
Although desperately worried about Theo, Alice finds herself distracted by the fate of an ancient woodland that seems to be inexplicably linked to long-buried family secrets. And also by a strange girl determined to convince her that fairies not only live in the wood but could exact a terrible revenge if their habitat is destroyed.
An unusual and engaging dual-narrative tale about love, loss, faith and complex family relationships.

This book was brilliant. It was a bit sad in places but the story was really exciting.

This book is one of the best I've ever read. And trust me, I read a lot! It has a mystical, magical feel to it once you have finished the book- like you do believe in faries...

This was the best book ever I just loved the way it ended , with everyone finally getting along together peacefully after all the problems they had faced.
