Jamie has some other problems too. He can't even talk to his new friends about how he has come to be a wheelchair user, let alone the Cool Girl he really likes.
His family are not only seriously un-funny and unsupportive, his 'stepbrother' is the school bully and Jamie's disability is no protection against his cruelty.

I had a year six read this book to me and it was reallllllllllllllly good I like the other middle schools to I recommend to 7-12
