Ghost Stadium
Publisher: Barrington Stoke
It's the last day of school. Most children are still hanging around school, saying goodbye to their friends. Lucas, Jack and Irfan have other plans. They are going camping in the old abandoned Northface football stadium. But all is not as it seems.
The boys get nervous when a shadow seems to fall from the top and hit the ground with a thud. What's going on? Does it have anything to do with the mysterious death of a Yorkshire County FC player years ago? Can they escape the stadium alive?
Tom Palmer's Ghost Stadium is a fast-paced and properly spooky ghost story. The book will suit reluctant readers as the exciting mystery will grab their attention. The book's design and the length of the chapters are accessible and also dyslexia friendly.

It's a brilliant book, it's also a bit spooky because it is at an old spooky stadium where Tommy Baird died.

I really liked how it got so tense at some parts of the story. It made me want to read more and more. I would have liked it more if the book was a bit longer and had a bit more description. I liked the story even though some parts of it were a bit random. For example when Jack went missing and they saw a figure falling. I didn't understand how the falling figure had anything to do with the story. After thinking it through I thought it could be the footballer (Tommy Baird) being pushed off....

I think Ghost Stadium by Tom Palmer was good and very exciting because it was a very adventurous and I think the story had a moral . I think the moral is if you find something and you know you should not go in there then do not go in . I thought it was very strange when Lucas was the one who spoke the dead man's name. In the book there was a dilemma and you always wanted to know what would happen next. The boys in the story were Lucas, Irfan and Jack, and they were in a mysterious stadium a...

I really enjoyed the book but I would have preferred it if it was longer and you learnt more about the characters at the start of the book. The build up before they got into the stadium like how they were brought up or how long and how strong their friendship is. However I love the part when they are inside the stadium but I think it waffled on a bit near the end when they had to go in and out of the stadium.

I thought the Ghost Stadium book was really good. I liked it because I enjoyed the adventure that the three boys went on and when you get to about half way you can't put the book down because it's so fantastic. I also thought the author Tom Palmer set the book out really well and the book was short but it still had enough time to explain the whole story!

I think Ghost Stadium was really good and exciting because the descriptive language was very creative and the build up was very tense. Personally my favourite part was when the ghost inside Jack was strangling Irfan. For me this was a very exciting but sometimes scary book. I would recommend this book to readers who like fast paced action packed horrors . Sometimes I had goosebumps all over my arms and legs and the hairs stood up on my neck.

Ghost Stadium is a great book for most ages, offering: scares, spooks, nameless creatures, cliff-hangers. It is an all round a very frightening book. However the overall length of the book was a bit disappointing (too short), but I enjoyed the back story. 3 boys venture into an abandoned stadium hoping for a fun night, but that soon turns sour. 5 years ago a good man lost his life here, they knew they were not alone...

Totally on trend with its paranormal themes, urban exploration and friendship, Tom Palmer has written a book that will engage even the least confident of readers, snaring them in with its pacey storytelling.

Ghost Stadium is a great short read - the chapters are short and succinct, and each ends with something that makes you want to turn to the next page. Every sentence is carefully crafted to entice you to read on, as you get deeper and deeper into the mystery and horror.

I really like how flexible Ghost Stadium is - loads of readers are going to love this story of three friends’ overnight stay in a haunted sports stadium. Anybody that likes football, sports, mysteries or chillers is going to find something to grip them in this spooky story. I loved that the author sneakily name drops some zombie and horror books from Charlie Higson and Darren Shan - so any further reading is all taken care of!
