Don't Go There

Review

A little girl is excited when a baby Martian arrives to play, but there's a problem – he's not toilet trained yet, and he keeps trying to go in very inappropriate places!

From a bird bath to a cowboy hat and a bin, he just doesn't understand how we relieve those calls of nature on planet Earth – but when he tries to go in the fishbowl, it's the final straw and something must be done.

Don't Go There is a lovely introduction to toilet training for little ones, who will enjoy joining in with The Toilet Song – a helpful little reminder of how to spend a penny. And there's a sweetly reassuring message that it takes everyone a little while to get used to it, too.

Jeanne Willis's fun, rhyming text is perfectly complemented by Hrefna Bragadottir's charming illustrations, which manage to be both beautiful and full of wit (the horrified birds at the bird bath are a particular highlight).

A sweet way to help children get to grips with using the loo.
