The Dark Lord falls to earth, crash-landing in a suburban car park in the body of a teenage boy, spitting out poisonous mucus. I haven't finished reading the book yet but so far I have had a lot of fun reading it. The book is funny, my favourite part was when he got confused at school. Sooz said " That's cool!" And he said " Cool? Do you not mean cold!". I laughed a lot at this book! I cannot wait to finish this book!

This book interested me as much a Brinsngr, and, personally, I prefer a bit of comedy thrown in here and there. I think Dirk is very much like a bunch of my favorite cartoon characters, and they have the same trouble of looking for a way home, but later on, noticing they may not actually want to go home. In conclusion, this book may be very interesting for young users, such as myself, and I look very forward to the next book of this series.

I personally do not like this book. I could not follow the storyline and it doesn't interest me. The Guardian said '' It’s funny-clever as well as funny-silly.'' I didn't find it funny, clever or silly. The only bit I found funny was at the start when it says Dirk Lloyd instead of Dark Lord for quite along time but it stopped getting funny after a couple of times reading the same words over and over again.

I thought it was a good try for a book ranging in the age range of 10 to 13 but some of the supposed humour was a bit hard to follow and didn't seem very funny. It might just be me but I like books to be a kind of thing you want to read but I thought the Dark Lord was more like a chore than a funny,exciting book. I am 12 years old and I think Dark Lord was a very strange book. It was a bit childish for me but someone younger would prefer it. I wouldn't read it again. I chose this book because it looks strange and in a way cool. I kept on thinking I can't be bothered finishing this. I did finish it but I nearly fell asleep.

I think this book was very funny. I couldn't wait to get home and read it. It was a great and rather stange type of story, not something you see every day, but it had a good narative hook and it was another version of what people would think of if you said Dark Lord to them. It leaves you asking many questions and I can't wait to read the next one, A Fiend In Need. I would recommend this to anyone with a taste for evil or humor!

This is a great book because it has got a great blurb cliffhanger and it wants you to read the book. I would recommend this book to anyone and it's great readers wanting mystery and adventure. It's brilliant for Doctor Who and Sherlock Holmes fans.

We read this book with our year 5 group. All the children found it very funny and they had very good expressions of the dark lord. It is such a great book! Jamie Thomson is a very creative and has a pure imagination.

I liked this because it took some of the ideas about power, violence, world domination, good and evil which you might find in a fantasy novel, and then asks what would happen if one such supernatural being fell to earth, losing his power and becoming an ordinary boy in the process!

Jamies brother was the one who recommended this book to me!! No joke, this book is amazing and funny. I am 12 and i think this book is good for all age types. i only read till page 30 and i loved it!!
