- Look carefully - there's more counting than you might think in this great book.
- The design and illustration are really sophisticated.
- This is a joy to look at - try Alison Jay's Alphabet booktoo.

This book is truly beautiful and captavating. Themed around popular fairy tales the illustrations allow for lots of discussions. My son loves counting the items for each page and discussing which fairy tale the illustration is about. the detail is incrediable. He loves looking for the wolf and wicked witch...who are often hiding some where in the most minut detail. a perfect book!!!! have just ordered the alphabet book.... cant wait for it to arrive :)

My 20 month old daughter loves this book. She's been paging through it for months now and still isn't tired of it (nor the Alphabet one). She sometimes counts (like on the 3 piggy page), but it's mostly pointing at items at the moment. As mentioned on the 3 piggy page she now knows where the pillows/cushions are, hats, apples, cakes, hats, umbrella's, girl and goose, etc. So besides counting she's also learning tons of words. And to recognise the same item/person/animal on different pages ...
