Counting with Tiny Cat

Publisher: Walker Books

Tiny Cat is counting balls of wool from 'None' through 'More' right up to 'Enough' in this beautiful and stylish picture book from the always-excellent Viviane Schwarz. Her quick brush cats are full of movement and life, with the red crayon wool adding a flash of colour to this otherwise monochrome book.

As usual the end papers are a delight and the smart red binding makes this book really stand out on the shelf. Little readers will love counting along and there will be squeals of delight as Tiny Cat loses control of the wool. In the end, Tiny Cat does what cats do best after making a mess, curling up for a very cosy nap. A lovely little book for even the youngest cat-lovers.

Du Iz Tak?

Author: Carson Ellis

A seed is sown in the ground next to a log and grows into a beautiful plant, much to the surprise of some rather stylish insect creatures. The two great joys of this book are the vibrant and quirky illustrations, and the humorous invented bug language.
