Chips, Beans and Limousines: The Fantastic Diary of Bathsheba Clarice de Trop
Bathsheba Clarice de Trop is fabulously rich, thanks to her very successful writer mother, and fantastically lucky as she apparently has everything she could possibly ever want, including two ponies.
The trouble is, her mother is far too busy writing Clarice’s adventures into stories to spend any time with her – and, actually, Clarice has no real friends, only the ones in the books her mother writes. The result is a child suffering from an overactive imagination and trouble distinguishing fantasy from reality.
This is a lovely, touching story, seen through Clarice’s diary, of what is actually happening in her world and how it changes the moment her seedy-looking dad shows up in her life again. Will appeal to young fans of Tamsyn Murray and Kelly McKain.
