A fifth title for Macdonald and Roberts' new series of short, humorous chapter books for newly confidant readers or older reluctant readers. The three stories involve Angela and her friends making cupcakes for the school fete, unexpectedly being invited to arch-enemy Tiffany's pony party, and lending a hand to the local Neighbourhood Watch.
As usual, things don't go as smoothly as Angela anticipates - although things turn out more or less all right in the end!
Readers will recognise a lot of their own experience in Angela's adventures, particularly her rivalry with Tiffany, and her well-meaning but sometimes disastrous schemes.
The clear text and numerous funny illustrations complement each other well, and encourage readers to move swiftly through the stories.
