Featuring a thoroughly diverse selection of women from varied points in history and across many cultures and disciplines, this is an excellent (and empowering) guide for children and a welcome addition to the many "great people of history" books that traditionally feature mostly men. As well as the more oft-quoted personalities, it's fascinating to learn about the less well-known women who have helped shape the world as we experience it today.
