Get ready for Sofia Valdez's Big Project Book for Awesome Activists by Andrea Beaty, with illustrations by David Roberts (Abrams & Chronicle)...

Much-loved character Sofa is here to inspire children everywhere to make a difference in their community. The book includes more than 40 different activities that are all about activism, politics, and the governmental process: from drawing new parks and flags for your town to a guide on how to contact your elected officials.

Our Writer in Residence Onjali Q Raúf has been focusing on these very issues in her BookTrust blogs, and is excited to give away copies of Sofia Valdez's Big Project Book for Awesome Activists as part of her residency:

'I was just seven when I learned what it meant to be an activist - and haven't looked back since!
'This gorgeous new project book highlighting 40 awesome activities linked to activisms, and a much-needed clarification of the ways in which governments work, is a perfect, timely gift for little activists everywhere.
'I am so proud that BookTrust have five copies to gift away, and know the lucky winners will be inspired to either start or expand their own important actions for the bettering of our world.'
