Author Onjali Q Raúf is on a roll. She has won two big book prizes recently – the Waterstones Children's Book Prize and our very own Blue Peter Book Award 2019 – for The Boy At the Back of the Class. She's also one of the authors featured in our Breaking New Ground brochure, as part of the BookTrust Represents project.

Onjali Raúf's book, which we called 'a beautiful, open-hearted debut', is the story of Ahmet, a refugee from Syria who starts school in the UK and forms a moving and inspiring bond with his classmates. It teaches a good, uplifting lesson of not judging people before you know them and to push for fairness, wherever possible.
