Wonder Boy

Publisher: Andersen Press

Set in the Othergirl universe, this book is a hilarious and honest story of zero to hero. Joseph 'Wilco' Wilkes is the biggest loser at the posh private school he attends on a scholarship. However, his life is about to get turned upside down. Wilco learns he can move things with his mind! Will he be able to become the hero he's always wanted to? Will he be able to get the girl and beat the bullies? Or will he fail at this like he does everything?

Nicole Burstein's writing is snappy and capable of being very profound, while also remaining accessible, making it a great book for reluctant readers. Burstein also creates a believable story arc for Wilco, lending a great moral foundation to an essentially whimsical story.
