Tilly's Promise

War comes, and Tilly promises to wait for her sweetheart, Harry. When her special needs brother, Georgie, is forced to join up, Harry reluctantly promises to look after him.

Tilly trains as a nurse and is sent to France where her ward is full of German soldiers. One night she promises to stay with dying Karl. But the arrival of many injured men forces Tilly to break her promise. Harry feels he has not kept his word either, when tragically, Georgie is shot by a sniper. But Tilly now understands that in war, you can only do your best.
