Tilly's Moonlight Fox

Publisher: Oxford University Press

There's a charmingly old fashioned quality to this gentle story from Julia Green, Course Director for the well-respected MA in Writing for Young People at Bath Spa University.

When she moves to a big old house in the country with her mum and dad, Tilly begins to feel lonely. Mum is ill, Dad is busy and she has left her old school and friends behind her. Then, exploring the garden she discovers a hidden gate leading into an overgrown secret wilderness - and meets the fox that makes her home there, as well as another unexpected new friend.

This sensitively-written story with a touch of time-travel magic has a flavour of classic children's books such as Tom's Midnight Garden. A lovely book to help young readers come to terms with change, or simply to read and enjoy in its own right.
