Threadbear

Publisher: Hachette

First published seventeen years ago, this classic award-winning picture book makes a welcome return for a new generation of pre-school readers.

Threadbear is an old, much loved bear who has been patched and mended many times, but who has never been able to squeak. He hopes that Father Christmas will be able to help him, but eventually it is something far simpler which gives him a voice and surprises his young owner.

Typical Inkpen illustrations – clear, colourful and funny – accompany the text, expanding and explaining the action, and in one spread unfolding into a dream sequence. Inkpen's text emphasises the value of friendship and shows that we all get angry at times or make mistakes, but that sometimes that's a good thing.
