Toddler Annie starts her day with a snuggle in bed with her parents and Edward, her teddy bear, before the rush of a family having breakfast and variously setting off for school and work. In the midst of all this no-one notices that Annie has dropped her bear, but once everyone’s left Annie and her mother look for him, before they settle down for their own daily quiet snuggle time.
Gwen Millward’s illustrations perfectly capture both the bustle of family life and the quieter moments, with plenty of detail for small readers to discover and discuss. There’s lots of familiar touches (especially on the messy floor!), and the rhyming text provides opportunities for memorising and joining in.
