The Bonehill Curse

Publisher: Bloomsbury Publishing

The year is 1868 and Necessity Bonehill lives miserably in a boarding school for young ladies where she has been abandoned by her parents. Overwhelmed by boredom, she is unable to resist temptation when an exotic-looking bottle arrives from her uncle along with instructions never to open it.

Once the stopper is out, the thing inside the bottle wreaks havoc and brings death and destruction. Necessity has just seven days to either kill the demonic creature or return it to its glass prison or she will pay with her own life.

This tense fantasy adventure is enriched with atmospheric historical detail. The juxtaposition of gruesome episodes of violence with magic carpet rides and ancient Eastern philosophy makes for fascinating reading.
