Shadow Forest
Publisher: Random House
Samuel and Martha's parents are killed when a log falls on the family car. Traumatised, the children go to live with strange, sad Aunt Eda in Norway, close to a forest full of dangerous creatures. When Martha ignores Eda's warnings not to enter the forest, Samuel follows to try to bring her back. Feeling responsible for putting them both in danger, Aunt Eda must also venture into the forest to try and rescue them both.
Separated in the dark and magical forest, our protagonists face trolls, witches and truth pixies, but discover that all is not what it seems.
This fantasy story is both touching and humorous, and is sure to have wide appeal.

I am on chapter "Night songs" now. The book is great!!!!!. It is my number 1 of my favourite books. In the blurb I find this bit really funny: "Samuel Blink doesn't know any of this so don't tell him, it might ruin the book" because it is a book so we won't really see Samuel Blink so we can't tell him but it makes it really interesting. Even though this book is my library book, I will buy it from the bookstore shops. I will buy all of Matt Haig's books that he has written as I believe they...

I love this book. When I first read the blurb, I felt like this was THE book for me. As I love imaginary things like pixies and witches, I felt like I would belong their. I also liked this book because I felt like I could relate to Martha . My grandpa and gran recently died from cancer and I am very sad.

I like this book a lot. The front cover is very eye catching and the creature on the front cover makes me think what is that? The blurb also kept making me think What is a truth pixie? It does not sound so deadly. There were all sorts of twists and turns which gave you a shock in the book. I really like the plot of the book, it is a common outline for many books. Someone goes somewhere and someone tries to save him/her. There is a lot of imagination in this book. I like it that the uncle g...

This book was really interesting. At first it took me a while to get into but when i did, it swept me away. I was really shocked when Martha went into the forest, and i felt sorry for them when they got changed into animals. I loved the twist of where Uncle Henrik got turned in to Ibsen and came back to Aunt Eda. I rated this 4 stars because i didn't get into the begining at first, but other than that i really enjoyed it.

This book is full of adventures. It will make you laugh, cry and jump out of your socks! This book is suitable for all ages but if you can get scared easily I think it is best not to read this book.Of course you probably can not resist it because it such an exciting and thrilling fiction book by a brilliant author. Samuel and Martha are the two main characters in this book. They are the bravest brother and sister I have ever known. If I walked into a forest full of dreadfull trolls, witches ...

This is an enchanting book. The menace of the forest is palpable throughout the book and yet there’s a light touch to it as well that makes it such a satisfying read!
