Jody is infatuated with an American rock idol. When she offers him a bite of her chocolate bar at a concert, he mistakes the silver wrapping for a knife. Jody finds herself accidentally kidnapping him, so she takes him home and hides him in her garage.

Her idol turns out to be drug-addicted, shallow and desperate to escape from the music scene. He is nothing like the lover of her dreams.

As Jody learns more about his fears and disappointments she begins to appreciate her own family, her good friend Mac and how she should reach out and grasp real life.

By turns humorous and touching, shocking and reassuring this story is a joy to read.
