Picnic
Publisher: Red Fox Picture Books
One day, boy and girl decide to have a picnic and invite their friends sheep, pig and duck to join them. On the way to find a suitable spot, they have a close encounter with a not-so-friendly bull. They escape and play some outdoor games together before finding an ideal picnic place.
During their day, several mishaps cause pig to lose his ball, duck to lose a scarf and sheep to lose a hat but, with luck, the children reading this book will find everything in time for the long walk home.
The deceptive simplicity of both text and illustrations will draw youngsters to the interactive elements in this picture book and provides an early opportunity to attempt independent reading.
