Review

MirrorMask tells the story of a girl from a family of circus performers who finds herself in a strange new world populated by mysterious creatures - a dreamworld in which she is about to embark on a most amazing journey. A funny, scary and magical fantasy for young readers.

Not only is this a beautifully produced picture book for older readers but at it's heart it has a wonderful, encapsulating story woven by master storyteller Gaiman and realised in full quirkiness by McKean. Readers will be swept away into a world of fantastic journeys and dreams and just like the main character will be utterly changed when they emerge.
