Desperate for a solution, Lily decides to take the children camping in the park for a few days. However, an accident requiring a visit to the hospital unravels all Lily's plans and leads to police intervention and foster care.
With overtones of an abusive step parent and an ending that suggests an uncertain future for our heroine and her family, this is an unsettling and thought-provoking story.

I love this book I read this in school and I get stuck in the book I love it when I find a book that I love this is my most favorite book in the world I'm 10 years old and I would recomend this book for other children (AMAZING)!!!!!

This book is about 3 children and the Mum [26] leaves 11 year old Lily on her own with her 3 younger siblings, Baxter, Bliss and Pixie. The Mum goes out 1 night, down the the local Pub, and she meets a man named Gordon. She says his so gentle and kind and cute, only she hasn't told him she has 3 kids. Lily Alone.......AMAZING!! I hate the Mum in this because she left young children alone in a house, and relied on Lily, the older child to look after them for ages, while the Mum and her new Boyfriend go away on holiday for ages. You must read this amazing book, really, you won't regret it!!

I love this book how it is adventurous and I hope nobody ever would get a mother like that Jacqueline Wilson is the best writer ever. I believe she should win the worlds best author. If you did like this book read Opal Plumstead by Jacqueline Wilson or Running Hot by David Hill.
