Hold Me Closer: The Tiny Cooper Story
Publisher: Penguin
Tiny Cooper has written his life story…as a musical. A larger than life character in every way, the spotlight is firmly on Tiny as he takes the audience/reader on a musical rollercoaster ride through his eventful life.
Tiny Cooper first appears in Will Grayson, Will Grayson, co-written with John Green and, although not essential, it would make sense to read this first. This clever companion book/stage production is unashamedly loud, fabulous and funny. With references to Broadway musicals and a good dose of deprecating humour, it also has moments of poignancy and bursts with optimism and love of life. Love him or not, Tiny Cooper is definitely difficult to ignore.
