Farewell Floppy

The little boy in Benjamin Chaud's book has decided that he's too old for his pet rabbit, Floppy. Floppy's useless, anyway. He might be cute and big-eyed, but he's not great at football OR wrestling. And his ears don't stand up like other rabbits.

But when the boy takes Floppy into the forest to set him free, he has second thoughts; especially when a little girl rescues Floppy, and he realises just why Floppy is such a good friend, after all.

This funny and bittersweet story about growing up and friendship is a thoughtful and mature read for any child that loves animals - reassuring us all that we don't have to be too grown-up too soon.
