Dark Ride

Bel's life is in ruins: her parents are breaking up and she and her mum have moved to seaside Slumpton - as awful as it sounds - with its decaying fairground (awaiting demolition) and proposed new marina (awaiting construction).

But then she meets Luka and falls in love. And Luka isn't like other boys; astonished, Bel realises he is a ghost. He died with his mum in a car crash but Luka suspects it wasn't an accident. Together, they uncover a web of dark secrets at the Slumpton's highest levels - but will they each resolve their unhappiness?

The combination of ghostly romance and hard-hitting novel about people-trafficking is unexpected, but Bel's voice is fresh and convincing and it's a compelling story.
