Ants in Your Pants!

Brilliant colour and lively rhyming couplets tell the story of Leopard and his friends who decide not to invite Aardvark to their party because he's not as cool as they are. 

But when Big Ant and his fellow ants (who were also not invited) decide to pay a visit to the party to play rude games like who can bite the most bums, the ant-eating Aardvark and his sister become very welcome guests.

Parker-Rees invents a wonderful set of underwear for each animal, and Jarman liberally sprinkles her text with bare bottoms, and bitten bums, ensuring a delighted response from young readers.

Probably not the most soporific bedtime reading, but a salutary tale about sensible birthday invitations!
