Adventures of the steampunk pirates: attack of the giant sea spiders

The Leaky Battery is a pirate ship with a crew powered by steam and clockwork, apart from Pendle the cabin boy (who is really a girl).
At the local alehouse, the metal mariners are offered a reward if they can find out why the enemy French are recruiting pirates and where they are taking them all.
Reluctantly, they team up with pirate Captain Inkybeard, whose squid-wife sits on top of his head and keeps his beard an inky black. He says he knows where to find the French.
The pirates sail off to adventure and discover the French are creating a fearsome foe to fight the English.
Lighthearted pirate fun, ideal for encouraging reluctant readers.
