About this book
Daisy Wart is NOT a witch, and she does NOT belong at Toadspit Towers. And she is definitely not called Twinkle! She’s a Shakespearean actress and the world must see her Bottom. At least, that’s what she thinks.
When her granny drops her off, against her will, at the menacing and mysterious Toadspit Towers boarding school for witches, she finds herself facing unexpected mysteries, mostly about herself. Luckily, she finds friends as well as enemies to help her survive the many dangers of Toadspit Towers and, finally, find out who she really is.
This book is brilliant, full of humour and fun. Most of all, Daisy’s smart wit and constant cheerful strength of will make her a hugely engaging character to read about. The magical elements are inventive and just on the right side of weird.
Mysterious magical boarding schools have been done before and yet there were surprises on every page, making the book feel unique. Highly recommended.
