About this book
Meet Dash Candoo: not quite your average school kid. Anda typical school day for Dash is anything but average either…
Monday morning: Dash is still in his pyjamas and hasn’t even had breakfast when there’s a knock on the door and he’s forced to fend off three wrestle-scallywags and the two-tailed Devil-cat. Although this appears to be a totally normal occurrence for Dash, things get even stranger when he arrives at school. There’s an unusual number of similar Total Mayhem situations that Dash must handle. And when the Devil-cat reappears and steals a highly coveted wobble-ball trophy from right in front of everyone, it’s clear something weird is definitely afoot. Can Dash work out what is going on and put a stop to it?
This is atotally zany, madcap story completely unlike the average children’s chapter book. Highly illustrated and with a large, clear font that looks like what an old-fashioned typewriter might produce, it’s very accessible and readable. The story is off-the-wall yet the school setting feels very relatable, while the gadgets Dash produces to help him escape Total Mayhem situations are ingenious, from anti-invisibility goggles, to a quadcycle, warp-vortex, and freeze-bomb.
A really fun and quirky story.
