About this book
Faizah’s teacher asks the class what kind of world they want. Some want an ice cream world or a unicorn world or a funny world. Faizah would like a kind world. She and her friend Sophie set about creating one in school. They help Andre find someone to play with, put a plaster on Priya’s hand, and play basketball with Asiya, Faizah’s older sister. Their class photo is full of big smiles. But when it comes to the sibling photo, and Faizah sees everyone else matching their siblings, she’s upset. She and Asiya don’t look like they match. What can they do? Luckily, kindness from their friends helps save the day!
This charming book reminds children that even the smallest gesture can mean a lot to others. Faizah and Sophie make an excellent pair, spreading thoughtfulness everywhere, and there is gentle humour in the interactions between the class. The illustrations are dynamic and colourful, with some lovely cheeky and happy expressions on the kids’ faces. The sisters Faizah and Asiya also feature in the brilliant picture book The Proudest Blue, and the love they have for each other shines out powerfully in both books. A delight!
