About this book

One night, a little cow falls to earth from the moon, but none of the earth animals speak her language. The sheep give her a blanket and a cup of tea, and decide to call her Dave. Bertha the cow has a go talking to her – she’s a cow too, so she’ll definitely understand what Dave is saying, right? But Bertha’s none the wiser.

However, when the chickens steal her jetpack, a photo of Dave and her family floats down to the ground, and the other animals realise she’s a Moon Cow. But how to communicate with Dave’s mum and dad, so far away? With the help of all her new friends, Dave manages to make contact.

This lovely book about friendship and belonging is beautifully paced and has all of Nadia Shireen’s recognisable cute characters, with fantastic expressions and plenty of laughs.

About the author

Nadia Shireen enjoyed making homemade magazines and comics as a child. She studied law at university and then worked in magazine journalism; it was during this time that she started to draw again. Her debut book, Good Little Wolf, received a mention in the Bologna Ragazzi Opera Prima Award and won the UKLA Book Award. Nadia has been shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. She lives in London.
